Server Mergers

I just heard a rumor that EQ was merging down to only 7 servers and anyone that hasn't played in last 6 months will get deleted anyone know how true this is and when do i have to log in to keep from loosing accounts

I know the server merger is true I have no idea about deleting accounts. I am not sure when the merger is going to occur either.

I went back and looked at the dates for the merger it is suppose to happen between 22 June and 6 July

They will begin merging servers June 22nd.

Inactive Characters
Accounts with characters below level 10 that have been inactive for six months or more will be purged from the EQ system.

When I recieved my e-mail from SoE it stated that "characters below level 10 which have been inactive for six months or more will be purged" also there will be 10 merged servers, with a new one opening "in the coming months"

There is no doubt in my mind that Oyvay will still be there in the pixlish world that is Cazic Thule - Fennin Ro

Yep. Server mergers help with current server populations. New servers are supposed to appeal to old players who don't currently play, and people who have never played looking for something new to do -- people that aren't interested in the old ruleset servers. It also gives the illusion of growth.
