Scheduled Patch May 22nd

On Thursday, May 22nd, at 3AM PDT, (1100GMT), all EverQuest servers will be brought down for a patch. The estimated downtime is 2 hours.

The EverQuest Operations Team

Lots of spectualtion on this patch. They took the Shared Bank boxes out and then replaced them like a day or two later. So maybe they will make this live.

Also hearing rumors that KEI will be made level restircted. From what I've been reading, they have been thinking of changing it so that Lower level toons cannot have it. Alot like SoE and what not.

Will be interesting none the less.

Many buffs already have a level restriction on them.

What they're doing is making it so that "group" buffs won't stick on characters that are too low either.

For example, you can't get a single-cast C3 or PotC or Shield of Thorns on any character under like 44 or 45. The group versions of these buffs (KEI, PotG, Legacy of Thorns), however, circumvent that level restriction.

This is what they intended all along, they just never got around to fixing it.

I have alts i might like to pl someday, but if this goes live I will be fully supportive of it. Chanters will lose a bit of money c3'ing, and that's about the only down side to it I see. Not being able to PL as effectively is somewhat of a godsend... except for ebayers, imagine a game where everyone had to level their toons themselves. I think that'd weed out a lot of the 1) /shout anyone casting c3 ( pause for 4 seconds) /shout anyone casting c3? 2) lvl 55+ NooBs that don't even know their spells or roles ...this won't cut that stuff out 100% but I think its a step in the right direction. It was never intended for it to be possible to buff lower level people like that anyway, and since they let it go so long they should prolly just leave it alone ( the mana needed to group buff a lower level should be sufficient downside to the ability to buff them if you think about it), but soe being the " if it isnt broke, fix it" type, if they are intent on fixing this particular thing, I for one welcome it. Maybe I'm not seeing the big picture, anyone else have comments?

Having had many accts and alts, I like to PL. I want the high end game but I like to be diverse also. If I want to cast a spell on one of my alts I should be able to. On the flip side though... This change wouldn't stop me from PLn my alts in any way. I can't use the best spell but that doesn't keep me from using the full lineup of other spells. They have a problem and its become big money. PL a new acct and sell it for several hundred. Make it a lil harder for those to do it and most will go away. Mixed feelings on this one but all things change.
