The Dominator is Back!
Dominik Hasek wanted to come out of retirement and he wanted to be a Wing. Sooo We took him back. Talks are coming out of everywhere about what we are gonna do with Cujo. Some folks are saying that perhaps we trade Cujo and get LaPoint back.
The Mac Resigned with the Wings as well. Which is cool by me seeing as how I could never picture the Grind line without Darren Mac.
No word on Fedrov yet, he hasn't resign and no word has come out from his camp or the Red Wings Front Office. Not the I ever like Fedrov, but wish he get off his High horse. He isnt the shiz anymore. hehe, but he did bury his New Ferrari around a tree in Bloomfield about a week back. Dang Russians.

Bah--I cannot believe Hasek is coming out of retirement, must need money or something? Yeah Federov is a walking ego but he & Yzer make a great combination. Just watch next thing is that Colorado will try and snag one of em for a lot of $$....bastages.

heh Killer part is I know that Stevie wants to stay a Wing, I just hope the Illichs keep true to their word and pay the man.
Fedrov is a Player. As much as I hate his ego, for the most part he can perform, and try as I might to hate him as a player, he can play damn good defense as well.
You can have 100 good Offensive players out there, but give me a few Defensive players and I show you damn good team. Dallas did it this way when they won the cup. I just hope to see the Wings back in the play offs next year.
Now as for Colorado Goes.....hehe Love that rivelry there :)

P.S. One neat thing about D-Mac re-signing is that it's a 4 year deal. He will be 35 when his contract runs up again. To me He should always be a Wing. I do hope that they work out a Deal with the Captain, which Im sure they will.
Wouldn;t be a Bad trade really Cujo for LaPoint. Then Bruins could use a Good Goalie, and now that we have The Dominator back for a Year, It would be good to see Martin LaPoint dressed in a Wings Jersey.
If I hear anything more, will keep yall posted.

Buh Bye Fedrov. He has stated that he will become a free Agent this year.
But in the News:
DETROIT (July 3, 2003) -- General Manager Ken Holland announced that the Detroit Red Wings have signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Derian Hatcher to a five-year contract. Per club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have Derian Hatcher join our hockey club”, said Holland. “He will be a major building block for our team for years to come. Derian is a unique player who grew up in the Detroit area and brings a great combination of size, strength, skill and toughness to our blue line. He was a Norris Trophy runner-up this year and by being a captain in Dallas he will be another leader in our dressing room.”
Hatcher, 31, was originally drafted by the Minnesota North Stars as the club’s first choice (eighth overall) in the 1990 Entry Draft. He spent two seasons with the North Stars prior to the club relocating to Dallas for the 1993-94 season. In 827 NHL games, Hatcher has scored 71 goals and 223 assists for a total of 294 points along with 1,380 penalty minutes. Hatcher has also appeared in 100 post-season games scoring six goals and 21 assists for a total of 27 playoff points with 35 penalty minutes.

I find it sorta interesting in what both the Wings and Ave's are doing in this off season. I don't know if it's the right thing or not considering that there is a very strong possiblity of a strike or lock out due to the collective bargining agreement coming to an end. One thing is for sure, player salaries are going to take a hit. If the NHL installs a salary cap type pay-roll, teams like the Aves, Stars, Rangers, and Wings are going to get hit with it while teams like the Wild or the Canadian teams could very well become power houses due to the fact that they will be so far under the cap. Guess time will tell on this one.

I would hope that the Big Boys have taken into consideration the CBA and the upcoming talks that are due to follow. I do think that part of the reason they didn't try as hard to resign Fedorov. The man can preform, but do you really want to get stuck with what he is demanding as far as money?
Whats really getting me excited is this season I think we are going to see some Major mixing up as far as teams go.
Colorado had already signed Paul Kariy and Teemu Selanne. You throw in Joey Sakic and all I can say is....Damn. Its gonna be a hell of a lot of fun watching Hockey this season.

One result I see already from the upcoming CBA problems is that there are going to be a lot of draft picks signing this year instead of perhaps staying in college to hone their skills. I have season tickets to the local USHL team and we see a lot of faces move on inot the college ranks and now some of them are starting to appear in the NHL. I can see where a few of those that were drafted this year will more than likely sign even though they might not quite be ready for the NHL (Thomas Vanek is a great example, amazing offensive skills but questionable on defense). Hopefully, those kids won't get sent to the minors and get lost there.

I'd have to agree with you there. I can see the NHL going after Young players simply because they dont have the merit to demand the bigger bucks. I would hope that they would let these guys hone their skill a little longer in the Minors or College leagues.
Time will tell I suppose.
Go Wings!

Well, looks like its going to be Duck Season coming up.
Reports have it that Sergi Fedorv has signed with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. At least that what I saw last night on the news. For a while there is was looking positive and we had heard talk about Sergi's Agent that all talks with Detroit was going well, then I saw it on the news, Cya Sergi.
Oh well.
