Can't actually say that I have a favorite author....will have to think about that more before I can decide on one. I have read books from all over the gamut, sci fi, fantasy, literature, horror, and on and on...

I do have a favorite book tho, not sure why, but I have always enjoyed reading "Lord of the Flies". I have read it a lot of times and will read it a lot more times.

I'd have to say my favorite book is... well there are two I guess.

Hatchet
and
How to Kill A Mockingbird

Forgot the authors, but I had to read them in school, I thought they were really good, there are others as well...

And Then There Were None
(Something along that line, there are a few names of the book VERY good mystery/thriller so-to-say. I love it, heck, might as well put it up with those other two.)

The Hobbit
(Same, read in school)

Ok that's all I ever read, the Goosebumps series that I read when I was younger don't count I think :P

"We are bred to suffer, born to die and live to learn, but when we die our memories live on in others, so in fact, we do not really leave because it is our memories that make us who we are." ~ Me

Snow Crash was really good.
The Diamond Age was good.
The Cryptonomicon was really good.

For Gibson, Neuromancer was good. Burning Chrome and Count Zero were overrated.

I'll bust out a list of recommended reading later.

Way too hard for me to pick a favorite book, instead I'll go by author:

King: Needful Things, Salem's Lot, and The Tommyknockers

F Paul Wilson: The Adversary Cycle (The Keep, Reborn, The Tomb, The Touch, Reprisal, Nightworld) and the follow up Repairman Jack novels

Robert McCammon: Swan Song and Wolf's Hour

John Sandford: Sudden Prey

Michael Slade: Hangman

Dan Simmons: Carrion Comfort

And the best novela I've read by far is The Inhuman Condition by Clive Barker (I do believe that was the name of the story). Just something about hands having a mind of thier own and chopping off other hands is creepy but highly entertaining.

Agree hard to choose one book as fav so must list. Siddartha, Damien and Steppenwolf by Herman Hesse were awesome. Faust by Goethe. Love all the Stephen King books until Geralds Game blah! Love Ray Bradbury--Illustrated Man, Martian Chronicles, Something Wicked this way Comes. Speaking of sci fi did anyone read the Prisoner of the Horned Helm series by James Silke. Hard to find series of 4 books but they are excellent. Frank Frazetta did the cover art for the books. Of course the Dragonlance books are sweet and as i play a DE i love the Drizzit series. not sure names right now.

reading a lot of non fiction lately. some nutty metaphysical stuff. Seth speaks, Many live many masters, Arctic Dreams and some other historical fiction which would probably bore you.

hehe nice thread glad to see it here. Ill try to post some recipes as my cooking skill in RL is pretty high!
