In Picoverse, Robert A. Metzger paints on a large canvas an unbelieveable story about multiple universes and mysterious Makers pulling the strings behind the scenes.

Metzger tries to do too much in this painfully abrupt book. We follow several characters through several years of activities. A lot of character development seems to happen "off screen," and the reader misses out on a lot of potentially good stuff.

Metzger's science is just as abrupt, claiming a lot about wormholes and parallel universes without making me really believe in any of it. It was interesting, and a lot could be done with it.

The ideas are great, and the potential for this book was a lot more than Metzger put into it. I think the book could have used a lot of revision, and perhaps been turned into two or three books.

Perhaps this is Metzger's plan, but this book doesn't live up to its own potential.

I give it 2.5 bananas.
