The DVD featuring the classic rocker Led Zeppelin, self-titled, is an amazing treat for Zeppelin fans.

I've been upgrading my home theater for a while; I've got a large-screen HDTV, a Samsung 563a progressive scan DVD player, new speakers, and I just recently got a Yamaha HTR-5760 7.1 receiver.

I received the Led Zeppelin 2-disc DVD set for my birthday, and I couldn't wait to open it up and test it out, based on the praise heaped on the recordings from every review I could dig up.

The DVDs are basically concert footage and live audio from several Zeppelin concerts over the years. The audio is mostly excellent, especially when you hear it in DTS or Dolby 5.1. There's even some bootleg video mixed in with the officially recorded stuff, giving you a crowd's-eye view of the band.

I haven't listened to the whole set, but the bluesy extended version of Dazed and Confused on the first disc is worth the whole price of admission. Page's solo performance near the end of the song was enough to keep me spellbound through the whole 10+ minutes.

I've thought a lot about getting this dvd. I love Led Zep and hearing Page in concert is always a treat.
