Early news about Legacy of Ykesha has leaked to SOE's own website:

Expansion available for pre-order? (https://store.station.sony.com/game_index.jsp?gamecode=EQ)

Looks cheap too. Cheaper than Planes of Power.

Update: The SOE website had "EverQuest: Legacy of Ykesha" listed under EverQuest Expansions, for $17.99 or something like that. It has since been removed.

In other news, it appears that there have been changes on the Test server to the Charm series of 63+ spells for Enchanters, Druids, Mages, and Necromancers.

Of course, Druids can only charm animals, Mages can only charm summoned critters, and Necros can only charm undead.

In an attempt to prevent the Charm classes from taking over the world, SOE has made it impossible for Charmed pets to be hasted. Resist checks have been altered from -50 to -10 to make resists happen a bit more. Also, EVERY spell that had a 0 second recast time, had it's recast time upped to 2.2 seconds.

What do you think about this?

I think it's bs. Instead of making melee more powerful they are going to drag all the casters down to our level.

Info I read about this on other boards is that all spells had a 2.2 second recast anyway. It was coded into the game as "recovery time". It is now just being coded into the spells themselves. Maybe an attempt to nerf instant click items to (pre-nerf circlet of shadows, jboots, etc).

Maybe now you can immediately cast a different spell without recovery time?

Will have to wait and see what this really is.

Another expansion? What happened to the poll Sony conducted where the masses said fix existing content? Guess they want another influx of money.

I have read on other boards that this is actually good. They are saying that all spells had a recast time on them, but were coded into a "recast time" greying out all spells. Now the coding will be on the spell itself, so you should be able to cast spell 1 (it greys out for 2.2 seconds) and immediately cast spell 2. If it works this way, awesome!

Another expansion? Arghhh, just utilize existing areas that have low traffic and re-vamp them. Much lke was done with CT.
