hey all anyone have any suggestion on how we can get the trader to stay up? whenever we put our trader within a couple of hours EQ kicks us saying the account has been inactive for too long. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have found that the following sequence of things keep my trader up until the next server reboot, 100% of the time.
1) open a Windows Explorer window (not Internet Explorer) and keep it in view on the desktop
2) Run EQ, go into trader mode
3) Alt-enter to windowed mode
4) Alt-R to release the mouse (I have to do it twice usually)
5) Click on the desktop
6) Move the EQ window a little bit
7) Minimize the EQ window to the taskbar
8) Lock the screen (while I'm away)
I think it also helps that I'm on cable modem, which seems to hold connection longer than other types I've tried.
That's my secret recipe. My virus scanner, and/or it's auto-update, email, and other "bot" programs can all run while I'm gone... EQ just keeps on going. I can unlock the screen, run Office 2003, whatever, then lock it again and go to work -- no issues.
when i have ny ingame i can be there for weeks. i just have her eq in windowed mode cause the screen is so big but i never have been booted unless servers go down. dunno maybe im just lucky, but i notice it helps if eq is still the active window when left overnight. also i dont need to have to run other programs like bawd, except that is the one with msn and icq loaded but they are in the background, also why im always online for those that know my msn and icq hehe. but sometimes i have them all off and only eq is on that one and still no issues. but if you guys want help shoot me a msn...keths got it :P
