World of Warcraft release

Went to the game store there other day and asked when might World of Warcraft be released. The guy said that they have a confirmed date of November 17. (Of course this could change). Nothing definate but better than nothing. Bye for now. :wave:

So, I've been reading about WoW..and it sounds really really awesome..better than EQ2 does, IMO. If I had the room on my computer for it, I'd probably get it..but I kinda lack the room, and I aint about to go and start fiddeling with stuff and end up breaking my computer..So, I'll just wait. Do they have servers and stuff? and is Amichi gonna try and stick on the same server? I kinda thought it was neat how they have voice chat err something like that, but then again that would be kinda weird also.

Gaerwing and i are driving down to Fountain Valley, CA tonight to get ours. Blizzard developers will be there. The more i read about this game the more i can't wait to load it up.

All I can say is that i'm hooked on it. Louie and I played in stress test for a bit and then on open beta until they closed it and we both love it so much more than EQ. He's going to camp out tomorrow morning at the mall when the computer stores open so he can get us our 2 copies.

What we really like about it is the fact that you can solo in it even up past the teens where you really needed to start having groups in EQ. The quests they have you do helps with taking the boredum out of just killing and leveling your actually getting money or items out of the quests and experience to boot.

Woooh!!! My friends will be back again playing together!! Wither the Amichi leadership will be creating a Amichi branch in WoW I am not sure. I personally will try to get as many Amichi member (present and past) on the same servers as I possilby can. Playing with friends makes World of Warcraft even more enjoyable=)

To answer your question Lady Jane about servers, There are 4 sets of servers. One for each time zone. Blizzard did this to help with LAG and for better connects to WoW. NOTE: all of use that want to be on the same sever MUST CHOOSE the same time zone and server in order to play WoW together. More on this in a few moments. Now the type of servers that are available. is explained below:

"Normal Server

layers have the ability to attack almost all opposing faction NPCs, including vendors and quest givers. If a player attacks an opposing faction NPC, players of the opposite faction are then able to target and attack that player. Whenever an NPC is attacked, players who share the same faction as that NPC will receive a system message indicating that a specific town is under attack.
Please be aware that some quest NPCs might not always be available. If an NPC has been killed, players should wait for the NPC to respawn.

Actions that will enable PvP on the standard player vs. environment server are: Attacking an NPC of the opposing faction
Attacking a player who attacked an NPC
Aiding a player engaged in PvP
Entering enemy cities

Players will also have the ability to enable PvP on their own by using the /pvp command. Once PvP has been enabled by a player, no matter what the method, it will remain in effect for five minutes.

In time, all standard servers will include a consensual Player vs. Player system called Battlegrounds. Once Battlegrounds has been implemented, players will have the ability to attack other players to defend their cities and towns from invasion.




Player vs. Player Server

n the Horde vs. Alliance race war server, territories will be indicated whenever a player enters a new zone. The zone name will now include additional information to inform the player of the territory's status. Additionally, the mini-map will be color coded to indicate who controls the zone:
= Friendly
= Enemy
= Contested

Players will be able to initiate player vs. player combat based on what territory they are in:

Players in friendly territories are safe unless they decide to engage an opposing faction player in combat.

Players in enemy territories will always be at risk and can be attacked by all players that belong in the territory.

All players can be attacked in neutral (contested) territories.

Actions that enable a player for PvP status on the Horde vs. Alliance race war server are:
Entering or being in an enemy territory
Entering or being in a contested territory
Attacking an NPC of the opposing faction
Attacking another player
Aiding a player engaged in PvP

Players will also be able to enable PvP on their own by using the /pvp command. Once PvP has been enabled for a player, no matter what the method, it will remain in effect for five minutes.

They do have voice emote that are really cool and funny. OOM, heal, silly, and rasp are just a few of voice emote. Combine voice emote in a Macro and you get some seriously nice feature in WoW. (not sure if you can do that yet or not.)

I do need help from everyone that wants to play World of Warcraft in order for this to work. I will leave this up to a vote. JESUS there was almost 3000 people that showed up last night at Frys in Fountain Valley, CA. Gaerwing and i got our copies and got them signed. Was alot of fun. Lucky we were of the first 100 in line heh. Krock was there, food, all kinds of stuff... Good time. We will be on the Ner'zhul PVP pacific time server. I am also th inking on Cenious i believe its called, which is a pve pacific time server.

I am still reserving names, will post them soon..

I will hand it to Blizzard for creating some great PvP realms. Especially since you can't get attacked by people on the same alliance are your are. Unless you conscent to a PvP duel. I was a lvl 11 dwarf Priest on PvP server in Open beta and the final stress test. I Help with a few battles but for the most part I found myself doing this alot:
