A few of us made it on to start guild, there are 8 members, some alts, in guild as of now.

A few minutes after guild was set up a guy I had been grouping with sent me a tell and asked me what I was up to, I said just got done setting up guild. Come to find out he played on eq 1 Cazic Thule server too, and to make it an even stranger coincidence he was in Amichi too. It was Yumdar. It seems a few Amichi folk set up another guild in EQ2 under another name. We set up a channel for our guild and theirs to chat in, our guild modt has the info on entering the channel. Channels in EQ2 work a little different than eq1 in that once in a channel you never leave it even after logging out until you disband from it. Join the channel next time you log in and you will have a new group of eq1 amichi to chat with while playing.

A guy I work with joined Amichi on EQ2, his name is Grogbar. He started playing EQ 1 a few months ago and has a 40ish druid there with the same name. If you could please give him access to the website here it would be greatly appreciated, I will have him submit a request for access.

Rams said he would give us a domain but I am clueless on how to make a website. If one of you is interested in helping with this that would be great. If someone could give me some schooling on it, Kalth or Rams maybe, Me and Grogbar can screw around at work and set it up, but would need some help to start. Making websites is something I have put off on learning how to do for too long.

You all that didnt make it on that want to get guilded get with me to try and figure out how we can get you flagged. Also need to figure out how to get my Alt flagged, cant invite character on same account to join guild.

It seems there aren't officers in EQ2, Just a guild leader. Ill have to read up on this more to figure it out. I believe I can make another person(/s?) a leader as well. If any of you have info on this stuff post about it please so we can get more folks in guild the ability to control guild functions, promotions, demotions, invites etc.
Also those of you that want to invest some extra time and effort in EQ2 the best thing you can do right now is find information. I set up a thread for links, if you find something good make a link to it there. We need to establish different positions of intrest for individuals to focus on, something like officers but not sure what to call them in EQ2.

We managed to get one officer (me) set up and tagged Devi's alt along with Trayleon and Gaerwing's toons (Menix and Tobogan). We even have our first status points!!

From what I have read:
Recruit - can be limited to guild chat and not much else
Member - regular guild member, does not contribute towards guild status
Patron - can complete guild writs to obtain status
Officer - can invite and promote members and create patrons.
Leader - has access to all guild commands

Probably need to work on Yum and Whee to merge their guild - although that might be met with some resistance. Not entirely sure at this stage whether it makes much difference.

We can go ahead and flag everyone as Patrons. The status points recieved by a person is divided by a minimum number of 12 before applied to guild level. If you notice your status points compared to your contribution status in the guild window it is 12 times higher.

We can deal with selecting who isnt and is a patron after we get more than 12 people that play in guild.

I was recruiting officer in my EQ2 guild. If I might recommend:

Recruit: this is the "tag em first" feature. Use this to do drive-by taggings of people that seem like they might have a brain and the ability to play a toon. This gives them the right to chat in your /guild channel. That's it. The recruiting process then starts on them, whatever that is. Having a rank that is below "member" makes it much easier to evaluate potential members. They can't say "I didn't know what was going on" because they see /guild chat, and presumably some of your guild forums.

Member: this is what you make someone once they've passed the recruiting process.

Patron: this is not a rank, but rather a flag that can be turned on or off for Recruits, Members, Officers and the Leader. They have changed it bigtime since I played, so I don't have answers, just advice to pay attention cause if you flag too many or too few, you get screwed on guild advancement.

Officer: can set the motd and make people Members or Recruits. can also set the Patron flag.

Leader: yep. the leader.

Dev,
I *was* in EQ2. I am in retirement from Sony games for the time being. The guild I was in folded, all at once. I joined it before Amichi had an EQ2 presence.
Was just passing on my experience in setting up and running a guild under the eq2 system. If you have any questions feel free to email me at mrwhoopaxe@hotmail.com . :eyebrows:

Put your character in a hotel room with an item on him for sale or stand him there and give bucko access. I will go in and tag him when myself and him are on. no need for you and me to be on at the same time this way. This is assuming he isnt in freeport, if he is a freeport based char let me know and we can coordinate a meet time.
