Help with a picture

While looking through some pictures of the columbia, I came across this picture.

The story of this picture is, while one of the astronauts was speaking to the president of India in space, they did a pan out the window. It was a very quick shot. This is what you saw through that window.

The german news site I got this from claims that this is a view of the wing of the Columbia through the shuttle window.

I have searched for other pics showing shot out the shuttle window, but I can't find any closely resembling this.


Can someone translate this for me?

According to snopes, this is false. The pic is not the wing, but of the cargo area. The "stove pipe hat" is actually a type of lug nut that is used in the cargo area.
