Camel Spiders

To get an idea on the size these critters can get click the link below. Mind you if you look close its not a normal type of spider but a solpugids and has 10 legs. Adult sized camle spiders can up to 24 inches in length. Now think about that running at 10 mph. They are also extremely aggressive and have been known to attack on sight.

Ya ever see the picture where you can see what looks like 2 spider legs sticking out from behind a wall clock? When they remove the clock the spider is as big as the clock, no thats one that gives ya nightmares.

We get these spiders around my house that are about an inch wide, have thick little legs, and are fast as hell. Those creep me out! If I ever saw one of these spider IRL I'd probably die of fright. *shivers*

I had the pleasure of finding quite a few of the camel spiders outside some tents on a combat outpost near the syrian border. The ones I saw were about that size... Around two times the size of my hand and there were a bunch of them. They would hang out around the AC units or the dining near the garbage heh. I also found a blackwidow the size of my palm underneath my cot :( :( . One of my friends that's still over there has the pictures of that thing. I'll try to get them from him.

I've also heard that sometimes when it appears they are chasing you, they are actually chasing your shadow trying to get out of the sun...
