Ok, so for a simple one-story house, these are an example of the tradeskilled items needed:
Sandstone Housing Brick 100
Soapstone Cornerstone 1
Rotwort Mortar 10
Standard Wood Panels 20
Standard Wood Housing Beams 20
Iron Fastners 6
Firegrass Window Coverings 10
Firegrass Thatch 20
Sub combines:
Bricks 1 Slab per brick.
Cornerstones 4 (rare) Slabs per cornerstone
Lotus Mortar Bought from the housing vendor
Select Wood Panels 1 Timber per Panel
Wood Housing Beams 1 Timber per Beam
Fastners 3 Ores per fastner
Window Frames Bought from the housing vendor
You have to build on land that has been designated as a home plot.
It costs 10 gold to buy the land, and then you have to pay upkeep every month. (not sure how much)
The thing is, tradeskills are limited in VG to two crafting skills per person, but the items required in building your house require more than those two skills. You will need the help of other tradeskillers to complete your home.
Oh, and did I mention at least some of these recipes require you to complete quests in order to learn them?
Having a home in Vanguard will be a sign of wealth, at the very least. From what I'm reading, you *could* just buy everything from other tradeskillers.
