Interesting......possible craftable armor above GM.
If you are working on tailoring and smithing you should probably hurry before they break it for a few weeks.

Not just break it, but if you have MDS or glossy's saved or on traders, sell em or use em before they are worthless.

The existing quest books and patterns are still used.
The Quest will be the same for quite a while. Though we do plan on changing them, it will definitely NOT go in with this batch of changes, so will be a while, probably many months.
My plan is to leave the existing quests in game so people can finish them, it is just that the NPC's will no longer give them out. We will just make new quests and have the NPC's only give out the new quests.
So, new quests are going to go in, but the old ones will remain for some time.
The fourth change that we’ll be making is to change the cultural armor recipes to use the above-mentioned templates in the process of crafting the base cultural armor piece. The cultural armor will still require the quested books, as their patterns are what you will use to apply the culturally specific designs to the armor. This will require a new drop that is generic for all races, as well as either ore or thread (for smithing or tailoring, respectively) that is specific to your race and sold by NPC vendors. The symbols will receive a similar treatment and will still require the quested books in order to craft.
This change will nullify the usage of all existing drops in the cultural armor crafting process.
I don't know what the timeline is for this, but I would say use up and sell all of your current cultural stockpile soon.

Seeing that they are talking about lvl 80 armor got me thinking, I remember in the tss beta they were toying with giving us 10 new lvls instead of 5. It wouldnt surprise me if the next expansion moved the cap to lvl 80. I should start grinding right away!

Yeah, that's the way I read it too. Expect it at approximately 1 year from the live date of TSS; I remember someone from SOE wrote somewhere that they do new levels approximately once a year.

Some of these changes went live today. This includes the requirement for Gnomish Charging Devices instead of Toolboxes for recharging things that take batteries.
So far there's no info on the source/recipe for these recharging devices. Please post if you know anything.

1x Coiled Spring
1x Toolbox Mold
1x Small Brick of High Quality Ore
1x Water Flask
1x Metal Bits
1x Contraption Parts
Will make a couple when I log in for the guild bank
Coiled springs will become in high demand again for a short period of time. Grab some if and when you can please. All the other items are vendor.

I know the regular toolbox didn't work when I tried to give it to her.

For those who have the old collapsible toolkit, you can exchange it with Caerlyna.
Apparently Tabbel Bromil (POK) will sell small gnomish recharge kits
The Guild Bank now has 5 of the newer recharge kits also, and I will make more as they disappear.
