From EQTraders - a fairly useful tool for Tradeskill items:

Key commands from within EQ
Item Lookup
/www eqtraders.com/i?Item

Recipe Lookup
/www eqtraders.com/r?Item

<<May 25, 2007 - Advanced Linking Now Available

"What a great database," I hear you saying, "but I wish I could link directly to EQTC items from my own website, or from in EQ!" Wish no longer! Now you can link from your site or from within EQ directly to the EQTC page for specific items! You can even link directly to the page showing what recipes use a particular item.

The reason we haven't done this sooner is that we use our own item numbering system, different from the item IDs that EQ itself and most item databases use. We didn't have a way to "translate" between our internal item numbers and the official item IDs. Over the last couple of years, we've worked hard to get item IDs entered into our database, and now have most of our items ready. As a result, we can offer a translation page that lets you link to an EQTC page even if you only know the official EQ item ID.

Aha, but therein lies the catch! For the link to work for an item, we must have an EQ item ID stored in our database for that item. The EQ ID is displayed on the item page when we have it. Most items in our database do have their EQ ID, but not all. (And, of course, we don't have all items in the game -- only those that are made by tradeskills, sold by a vendor, or have a reported tradeskill use.) If you find an item that isn't in our database, or one that is in our database but doesn't work with the link, please post an update in the Database Update Submissions forum with the EQ ID. As soon as we enter it, the link will work.

When in Everquest:

You can do a lookup directly on any item by typing the following into your chat bar:

/www eqtraders.com/i?

Don't hit enter yet - first click the item in your inventory that you want to look up. Then hit enter. Your default Web browser will open up directly to the EQTC page for that item, if we have it in our database.

Notice that letter i right before the question mark? That i means item. Use this to get information directly on the item. Now, what if you want to find out what recipes actually use an item? Use this command instead:

/www eqtraders.com/r?

Notice the letter r instead of the letter i right before the question mark? The r stands for recipes, as in "What recipes use this item?" It takes you to the same page as clicking the "Find recipes that use this item" link on most of our item or search pages.

For your website:

Create a link on your page that points to one of the following:

http://eqtraders.com/i?eqid=#
http://eqtraders.com/r?eqid=#

Substitute the actual EQ ID for the #. That is the database ID used by EverQuest; this is the number you get if you use the /outputfile command in EQ.

Again, use the first link (with the letter i) when you want to link to the item info and how to make that item. Use the second link (with the letter r) when you want to link to what recipes use that item as a component.

This link system is still in the testing stage! It may have bugs or unexpected effects. If you discover something odd, or if you have a suggestion on how to make it better, please post on our boards. We can't always implement every suggestion made, but we do consider them all seriously.

Another round of applause, please, for our fearless KyrosKrane, who has once again put enormous heaps of work into making the database that much more useful! Bravo!!
