Big patch coming 10/7/2008

We can assume it's preparatory to the expansion...

Game Update: All EverQuest Live Servers (except Al'Kabor) will be brought down at 3:00 am PDT on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 for a Game Update. They are estimated to be down until 1pm. (PDT is -7 GMT: 2:00pm MDT, 3:00pm CDT, 4:00pm EDT, 8:00pm GMT).


Just as an FYI, there will be a LOT of changes to the UI come tomorrow! It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that you switch to the default UI *BEFORE* the patch to prevent the inability to log in because of EQ's sh*tty UI parsing engine that just crashes and burns instead of going to Default.

Lots of reported bugs so far for this patch.

Graphic glitches.
Pets poofing when you go LD.
Leadership AA's not working.
Joining groups bugs chat and cannot change leadership.
Viewport squishes the view in a bad way.
Some UI elements don't work right.
At least one event is bugged.
In some zones, NPCs are assisting PCs as if they were mercenaries.
Some people are experiencing XP problems; they're not receiving XP, or not the right amount.

Oh yeah, and these files were changed but not listed in the patch message:

EQUI_CastSpellWnd.xml (code added for dynamic sizing)
EQUI_Inventory.xml (changed AAXP gauge size)
SIDL.xml (new element added .. "Screens" )
menuicons01.tga (one icon added)
dragitem60.tga (2 icons added)
grouprole.tga (new file)
