Help me !!

Comp has been giving me some greif, I was wondering if anyone could help me clear it up.

I don't think I have recently installed any new programs or drivers. And i know i haven't changed any hardware. But my comp has been going to the ble screen of death.

A prolem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer...

Hubby is a tech so i asked him. He says you need to reinstall your OS. Windows XP he said :p Hope that helps.

I saw that same screen loading windows xp on my computer.. Im just running windows ME now ( i hate windows Measly Excuse, but xp doesnt want to run well on my new computer )

Ok if that is what i have to do that is what i will have to do. just was wondering if there was going to be an easier way hehe

A Couple things will generate that error.. And only ONE of them will be fixed by changing opperating systems.


Corrupt or bad device drivers.
Bad hardware


When you get that errror, it will give the name of a driver along with it. That's the driver where the error occured (Sadly, they only log the error, not the device so can't look at it in the log.).

Reinstalling an updated driver for the one that failed may fix it. It could also be bad hardware. If it's bad hardware, No opperating system will fix the error..

Take notes on when it happens where it was. That'll help a lot.
